Since ESPN has decided to go after Nascar racing, I would like to know how they are going to handle drag racing. They still going to show it? Have a contract with NHRA yet? Set a TV schedule? I sure don't want to lose NHRA! What's life without John Force

Looks to me like ESPN will cover NHRA events through 2013. So you don't have to worry about missing those drags. They will just be on ESPN2.

Perfect!!! Was afraid once they got the almighty Nascar we would lose NHRA...what amazed me is: NHRA pays to be on TV-Nascar gets paid to be on TV.

Well it's all a matter of the type of racing I think. I mean you either want to watch a couple of wild looking cars go 1/4 mile in less than 4 seconds, or you want to watch 42 cars go 180-200 mph for 3 hours. And believe me I'm not placing any type over another. They are just sooo different. Then there is marketing. NASCAR has done their best to ingrain stock car racing into our daily lives. While drag racing is the bastard step-child of old time street racing, but has lost that small garage tinkering image that used to draw the crowds.

I want to watch both-I will say NHRA doesn't make me nod off--Nascar does at times--the cookie cutter tracks where they go round and round and round-I doze and doze and doze.
Yep, Nascar has kind of shoved themselves down everyone throat---I don't like the "entertainment/drama side of Nextel racing.

I think that most people go to the NASCAR events for the comradery there. My sister had never gone before this last stint in Richmond, and she said it was a 12 hour party. There were people that she'd never met talegating with her and her boyfriend. That's the reason I'd want to go; Im just here for the party!

I like drag racing a lot more. For me, there's just a lot more excitement in it.
