After announcing thier switch to Ford for the 2006 season, ULTRA has made the surprise announcement that they are closing their doors because of lack of manufacturer support. In addition to the closing of a highly successful team on the Craftsman Truck Series circuit, this move also leaves defending Truck Series champion Ted Musgrave without a ride for 2006.
However Ford has come back with it's side of the story that portrays a team struggling with fielding a 2 truck team due to sponsorship issues. Which left Ford with the option of cutting their 2 truck deal in half to allow ULTRA to field one truck, but also cut the money available to ULTRA in half also. So needless to say thier are points on both sides of the issue that needed to be addressed but neither side was willing to come to a consensus.
