This 25 race series is run on dirt and paved tracks from 1/5th mi to 1 mile in length. These miniature sprint cars (midgets) have been a starting point for many aspiring drivers. While sprint cars are 1400 lbs with upto 800 hp V-8's under the hood, midgets are less than 1000 lbs and only have a 325 to 350 hp V-6. However, less horsepower does not mean less excitement. Superstar racers who have moved through the midget ranks include Kasey Kahne, Jeff Gordon, A.J. Foyt and Mario Andretti.
