After a long and drawn out process, NASCAR has announced that Charlotte, North Carolina will be the host city for their Hall of Fame which is slated to be open by Spring of 2010. The $107.5 million dollar facility will feature a Great Hall, Hall of Honor, other exhibit space in addition to interactive exhibits, entertainment, retail, restaurants and a state-of-the art media center. As with most of the recent projects proposed by NASCAR, the local citizens will bare most if not all the cost with a 2% hotel/motel tax in addition to state money and private contributions. The new HofF could also include a convention center and integrated office building.
