Kasey Kahne found the speed in the 1st practice session for the Nextel Cup Golden Corral 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway to take the lead with a 29.295 at 189.247 mph. Kahne is currently 3rd in the Nextel Cup standings and tends to fair well at the mile and a half tracks. Rookie Reed Sorenson was 2nd fastest with another Dodge driven by Kurt Busch rounding out the top 3.
