The Indy Racing League (IRL) has signed a deal with KISS bassist and front man Gene Simmons to perform a 91-second anthem to promote the fledgling league. The song has been posted to the league website at http://www.indyracing.com. Further details of the promotional champaign have not been released but has been reported to include a clothing line.
The IRL is actively attempting to increase it's fan base and merge into mainstream sports such has been accomplished by NASCAR in recent years. However, until they establish some consistancy I believe they will encounter some resistance. The 500 is all the IRL has going for it at this time. However, with the emergence of Danica Patrick they have an opportunity to make a comeback and impact motorsports not seen since the 60's. _________________ A win is a win, and second place is never good enough |
