The International Race of Champions (IROC) was concieved in 1973 to bring the best of each racing series together to race. All 12 identically prepared cars are equiped with 350 cu in, 500 hp, V-8's. The only thing different on each car is the color and number. Drivers draw to see which car they get before each race. So a driver could have a different car in each race. The racers that competed in the 2004 series are:

2 Ryan Newman NASCAR NEXTEL Cup
3 Kevin Harvick NASCAR NEXTEL Cup
