ARCA or the Automobile Racing Club of America has a 23 race series mainly run in the midwest and east coast. Along with title sponsor Re/Max, they run races on everything from the 2.5 mile super speedway of Daytona to 0.4 mile asphalt of Lanier Nat'l Speedway in Braselton, GA to the 1 mile clay track at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, IL.
Based in Toledo, OH, ARCA was created in 1953 by former NASCAR driver and referee, John Marcum. The series flourished in the 60's and 70's producing NASCAR greats Benny Parsons, Bobby Allison, and Davey Allison. The series suffered in the early 80's with the death of founder John Marcum. However, through the dedication of long time supporters and staff the series was rebuilt to what it is today.
ARCA is one of the many ways aspiring drivers can gain valuable racing experience. The 2005 schedule features 23 races, including Daytona during speedweek.
