Kurt Busch cemented his spot in the Race for the Chase with his win Saturday night in the Nextel Cup Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Speedway. In addition, 4 of his Roush Racing teamates also guaranteed thier spot in the Chase.
The tension had been building for the past few weeks to come to a head for some exciting racing. Kevin Harvick started on the pole for his shot at getting in the Chase. As evidence of this there were 3 lead changes in the first 5 laps alone, with harvick coming back out on top. he would continue to lead until a caution on lap 32. After taking 4 tires, Harvick would again push his way towards the front and hold the position through several cautions until lap 194 when Kurt Busch made his presence known by passing for the lead. Harvick would claw his way back up front, but Kurt is just too strong taking back the lead from his brother Kyle who was briefly up front.
That was it for the night as Kurt Busch essentially dominated the rest of the race, through several cautions. Each time they would pit, and each time blast their way back to the front to finally take the checkered flag over teammates Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle. Kurt's brother Kyle was 4th while Rusty Wallace rounded out the top-5.
