Kevin Harvick completed a sweep of Friday nights activities by first winning the pole for the Nextel Cup Chevy Rock & Roll 400 then topped that off by winning a 2 lap shootout with Paul Menard to take the checkered flag in the Busch Series Emerson Radio 250 at Richmond International Speedway. This is Harvicks 3rd Busch Series victory of the season and his first at Richmond.
Friday nights race also marked the debut of Erin Crocker who was driving the Country Crock-sponsored #6 Evernham Dodge. The New England native started the season in the ARCA series where she has posted 4 top-10's also driving for Evernham. Crocker started out in open wheel cars like NASCAR notables Kasey Kahne and Tony Stewart. However, her night did not last long as her rookieness caught up with her and sending her spinning into other cars on lap 123.
The wild ride of the night came on lap 200 when series leader Martin Truex Jr was squeazed into the wall by Mike Wallace driving the #38 Great Clips car, pushing Truex's car over on its side as it slid down the outside barrier. Needless to say Truex was not pleased and showed Wallace multiple times with obscene gestures.
A late race caution for debris set up the green-white-checkered finish that ended the race. Harvick had taken the lead from Menard on lap 217, and led the rest of the field to the green flag for the 2 lap shootout. Menard just didn't have the power to retake the lead so had to settle for 2nd.
