Taking control late in the race, Carl Edwards held on to take the checkered flag in the Busch Series Ameriquest 300 at California Speedway ahead of fellow "Buschwacker" and Roush Racing teammate Greg Biffle. After starting from the pole, Edwards had dropped to 8th on a lap 113 caution. But as the green dropped on lap 116, Edwards powered back to the front soon after.
Teammate Biffle had also dropped back in the field after pitting, but he too powered past most of the field to the 2nd position on the track. But by this time Edwards had built up a 6 second lead over the rest of the field. A late caution gave Biffle the opportunity to give Edwards a run, but Edwards was just too strong and pulled away to take the win by 1.71 seconds.
Clint Bowyer was 3rd, followed by Johnny Sauter in 4th, and Kasey Kahne rounding out the top-5.
