Clint Bowyer capitalized on his fast speed in the 2nd practice session to capture the pole for the Busch Series Ameriquest 300 at California Speedway with a lap of 39.706 at 181.333 mph. Sharing the front row will be "Buschwacker" Kasey Kahne who qualified 2nd overall. Series leader Martin Truex Jr qualified back in 9th.
