Ryan Newman captured his 2nd straight Busch Series victory with a win in the Busch Series Dominos Pizza 250 at Michigan International Raceway. Running a limited Busch Series schedule this year, Newman has placed in the top-5 in each of his 4 races so far.
The race began 50 mins late due to rain delaying qualifying for the Nextel Cup race. Since rain had also cancelled qualifying for the Dominos Pizza 250, current series leader and defending Busch Series champion Martin Truex Jr started on the pole. However, Truex would run into trouble with tire problems, falling back to 29th. But he would work his way back to finish 4th for his 14th top-5 finish in 25 starts.
Race winner Newman started back near the rear of the field in 38th, but soon made his way near the front of the field. On the final restart after a late race caution, Newman was able to power past Greg Biffle for the lead and the win.
