Busch Series rookie sensation, Reed Sorenson, won his 2nd race of the season by taking the checkered flag in the Wallace Family Tribute 250 presented by Shop 'n Save at Gateway International Raceway in front of 60,000 spectators.
The Wallace brothers, who were the guests of honor in a race that celebrated Rusty Wallace's storied career and the Wallace families contribution to the sport, finish 2nd, 24th, and 37th. Rusty had led the race for 17 laps in the mid part of the race but ended up crashing and finishing 37th. Brother Mike finish 2nd while little brother Kenny finish 24th.
Sorenson took control of the lead with 33 laps to go and never looked back. Mike Wallace tried to make a run after a late race caution, but Sorenson was able to hold off the challange for the final 3 laps to take the win. Carl Edwards was able to recover from another rear of the field start to take 3rd, with David Green 4th and Paul Menard rounding out the top-5.
The next Busch Series race will be the Kroger 200 at the Indianapolis Raceway Park on August 6th, 2005 with race coverage beginning at 8:30pm EST.
