David Green captured his first win of the season by holding off pole-sitter Clint Bowyer to take the checkered flag in the Busch Series ITT Industries, Systems Division and Goulds Pumps Salute to the Troops 250 presented by Dodge at Pikes Peak International Raceway. Bowyer led 152 of the 250 laps run, but in the end just couldn't hold off Green who had fresher tires in the end. This win was paybacks of sorts for Green who had a similar battle with Bowyer earlier this season at Nashville, where Bowyer came out on top.
Rounding out the top-5 was perenial also-ran Kenny Wallace in 3rd, with current Busch Series leader Martin Truex Jr 4th, and JJ Yeley 5th.
The next Busch Series race will be the Wallace Family Tribute 250 presented by Shop 'n Save at Gateway International Raceway on July 30, 2005 with race coverage beginning at 8:00pm EST on TNT.
