Ryan Newman took over the top spot in Happy Hour for the Nextel Cup Series New England 300 with a lap of 29.086 sec at 130.950 mph. Kasey Kahne in the #9 was close behind with a 29.121 at 130.792 mph. Previous leader from the last practice session, Mark Martin, dropped down to 23rd.
