Patiently waiting for the opportunity to take the lead, Mark Martin got his chance with 14 laps to go. Taking the lead after race leader and Roush Racing teammate Carl Edwards spun out with a flat tire, Martin was able to hold off Kevin Harvick and David Stremme who were battling for 2nd.
Edwards had rocketed to the lead after qualifying for the pole, and was clearly the car to beat. Leading for 125 of the 200 laps, Carl dominated the rest of the field until his tire went down on lap 186. Martin won the race to the green flag and was able to hold off the rest of the field for the checkered flag and his 47th career Busch series win.
