NASCAR's only open wheel division, the NASCAR Modifieds are unique vehicles. Running on Hoosier bias-ply tire and 107 in wheelbase, these 2,600 lb cars are powered by 350-360 cu in engines.
Competeing primarily in the Northeastern section of the US, this division is actually the first division that ran races under the NASCAR moniker. During the 50's and 60's these cars developed innovative suspension systems, better engines and sophisticated boddies, soon becoming unlike anything else in NASCAR.
