Former 2-time Top Fuel champion, Scott Kalitta was able to outrun the competition to take the Top Fuel bracket in the 2005 Winternationals. In his 17th career win, Scott turned a 4.487 at 328.46 mph in the defeat of Doug Herbert who's engine mis-fired near mid track holding him back to a 5.371 at 181.84 mph. Scott's win brought back memories for dad and crew chief Connie Kalitta who won in Pomona back in 1967.
