In all the excitement that Daytona has to offer, Tony Stewart captured his first Busch series win in 42 tries. Starting from 14th, Stewart worked his way up front and led 46 laps but it almost wasn't to be.

In a yellow filled race, Tony was in the front on lap 25 when Carl Edwards bumped him, causing Tony to lose control and shoot through a portion of the infield grass at 190 mph. Stewart kept his boot in it, and reentered the track, dropping back to 7th place. Tony was able to hold on until a caution flag, several laps later when he entered the pits to have his damage fixed. Leaving the pits after an extended stop, Stewart was back in 17th place with a seemingly insurmountable amout of ground to make up to capture the win.

Tony rocketed towards the front of the field with the help of teammate and car owner Kevin Harvick. In 5th place at a restart with 4 laps to go, Tony and Kevin became as one to force their way to the front past the Chance 2 Motorsports duo of Dale Earnhardt, Jr and Martin Truex, Jr who were 1st and 2nd respectively. Using the draft from Kevin, Tony was able to push his way into first, holding on to take the white flag just as a three car crash took place behind him bringing out the caution and guaranteeing him the victory.

Tony was on a roll during speedweeks with taking his session of the Gatorade 150 on Thursday, and gaining the #4 starting postion for the 500, in addition to his win here at the Hershey's Take 5 300.
