The 19th Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals A-Main was run on January 9th, 2005 at the Tulsa Expo Center in Tulsa, OK. This 50-lap midget race in run on a roughly circle 1/4 mile track and has been won in past years by the likes of Sammy Swindell, Billy Boat, and Tony Stewart.
The starting line-up was as follows:

Jones, 6D Chad DeSelle/8X Bud Kaeding, 11W Dave Darland/20S Tony Stewart, 20L Danny Lasoski/35W Gary Wright, 4B Bobby East/37X Casey Shuman, 22M Ray Bull/25 Jon Stanbrough, 1W Paul White/23 Jerry Coons, 94 Brian Gerster/39 Tim McCreadie, 1nz Michael Pickens/87 Rich Camfield, 6 Kevin Olson/82 David Gough, 26 Tyler Walker/3w Brandon Waelti
After running several hot laps the action finally got started. Hines leads the field at the green with Ford a close second. Kruseman, Jones, and DeSelle are hot on their tail. Yellow is shown for Shuman who is stopped on the track. The action get started again with Kruseman carrying the wheels down the backstretch trying to get around Ford. Stewart climbs DeSelle's wheel and loses a spot to Darland.
Kruseman has moved into second but loses it and jumps the berm giving hines a massive lead. By lap 12, Hines has caught the rear of the field and Darland has moved to fourth, behind Kruseman and Ford. Stewart spins out bring out the 2nd yellow of the evening. Tony moves to the rear of the field, and the top four stay the same followed by DeSelle, Jones, Kaeding, East, Bull, and Lasoski.
Just a note for the prize list tonight. An extra $10,000.00 will be added to the top prize if the winning car is running Mopar power. Which gives Hines even more incentive.
At the restart it is 3 wide behind Hines as East, Jones and DeSalle make a move. DeSalle holds his spot and Bull is around Keading for 8th. Keading brings out the yellow again on the 19th lap with a spin taking Stanbrough and Wright with him. Stewart all retires for the night. On the restart, Bull takes DeSalle for 6th position.
By half-way Hines still leads with Kruseman, Ford, Darland, Bull, Jones, East, Pickens, Lasoski, and Gerster not far behind. Lap 35 sees Kruseman catch Hines in traffic but is unable to put him away. The rest of the race is fairly uneventful with hines taking the win and the $10,000.00 bonus for winning with Mopar power. The big movers of the race were Ray Bull who pulled out a 5th place after starting 13th and Michael Pickens finished 6th after starting way back in 19th.
