Kasey Kahne Racing has announced the choise of Kraig Kinser to pilot the Kahne #19 Silver Crown car for the 2005 season. The 20 year old Kinser is coming off his rookie season on the World of Outlaw series where his father, sprint car great Steve Kinser has won 19 championships. Following in his fathers footsteps, Kraig captured the 2004 Rookie of the Year in the World of Outlaw's with a seventh place overall. This will be Kraig's first shot at a non-wing car on pavement, however crew chief and Kahne cousin, Willie Kahne is confident of Kinser's abilities. "After he took the Rookie of the Year honors in the 2004, Kasey and I figured he was ready to broaden his horizons and figure out if he could be successful on pavement. I prefer to work with drivers that have experience with winged cars, because after one full season, with more than 100 shows coast to coast, a driver can do just about anything.", says Willie.
Kasey Kahne Racing was borne out of a partnership with Curb-Agajanian Motorsports. Kasey wanted to give back to the grassroots racing that brought him to the sport, and has been successful from the beginning with three straight victories on both dirt and pavement. _________________ A win is a win, and second place is never good enough |
