Brian posted “top-10” point finishes in both the USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown and National Sprint Car Series in 2003. In the Silver Crown cars he had a third at Indianapolis Raceway Park and in the Sprint Cars he won a race in May at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway. His 2002 USAC racing season included a pair of Silver Crown victories and a 10th-place finish in the final Sprint Car point standings. He was 14th in the final Silver Crown points after winning at Pikes Peak International Raceway in Colorado and in the “4-Crown Nationals” at Rossburg, Ohio. Despite not winning a Sprint Car race in 2002, he had a second at Toledo, Ohio and thirds at Winchester, Ind. and Indianapolis Raceway Park. Brian was eighth in the final 2001 USAC Silver Crown points, scoring seven “top-10” finishes in 12 starts. He won the pole for the August race at Indianapolis Raceway Park and finished second to Kasey Kahne. He also won the pole at Nazareth, Pa. and finished fourth there. The ninth-ranking USAC Sprint car driver of 2001, Brian earned back-to-back feature wins at Toledo, Ohio and IRP to give car owner Dynamics, Inc. a career total of 50 and earn himself an Indy Racing League test with Hemelgarn Racing. Brian finished third in the 2000 Silver Crown Series points, winning the season opening race at Orlando, Fla. and the series-closer at Memphis, Tenn. The win at Walt Disney World Speedway in January came against the biggest starting field in series history - 43 - necessitated when rain forced cancellation of qualifications. He added a pair second-place finishes as well as a Sprint Car victory at Cedar Rapids, IA., which helped him place ninth in the 2000 Sprint Car points. Brake problems in the season’s final race at Madison, Ill. deprived Brian of the 1998 Silver Crown title, losing by just 16 points to Jason Leffler. He opened the 1998 Silver Crown campaign with a sensational victory in the 50-miler at Walt Disney World Speedway and led the standings going into the series finale. Ironically, it was Leffler who ran out of fuel at the white flag, allowing Brian to take the checkered flag at WDWS. The STP “Most Improved Silver Crown Driver” of 1997, Brian appeared headed for victory in the “4-Crown Nationals” at Rossburg, Ohio in 1997, leading the first 41 laps of the 50-lapper before tire woes beset his machine. The 1996 USAC Sprint Car Champion repeated that title in 1997, scoring four feature wins and five seconds. He made six Silver Crown starts in 1996, scoring an eighth-place finish in the "4-Crown Nationals" feature at Rossburg, OH. In 1996 he also became the first driver in 39 years to win a USAC Sprint car title without the aid of a feature win, combining a dozen "top-5" finishes in 25 starts to earn his first USAC crown. In 1995 he won a nationally-televised USAC Sprint race at Louisville, KY. In 1998 he made his Indy Racing League debut in the series opener at Orlando, Fla. and was in the “top-10” before an untimely crash forced him out. He finished the 1998 IRL campaign with a great fifth-place finish at Las Vegas, Nev.
