Also won for the fifth time in his career at Bridgeport Speedway in 2003 * finished second in the World of Outlaws point standings in 2000, the fourth time in his career he was the runner-up * won World of Outlaws championships in 1981, 1982, 1997 * going 15 years between championships is the longest period between major championships in major auto racing series * set the world record for speed on dirt with a 24.719-second, 145.637-m.p.h., at Illinois State Fair Speedway on June 7, 1998 * set a World of Outlaws record with seven straight feature victories in late August and early September, in 1997 * recorded the first clean sweep in World of Outlaws history at Bridgeport Speedway on August 7, 1995, setting the one-lap record and winning the First Heat Race, the Vivarin Dash and the "A" Feature * claimed the $65,000 first prize in both of the historic Fram Dash races (1990 and 1991) * the only driver in World of Outlaws history to win "A" Features at different tracks on the same day - at New York State Fair Speedway and Rolling Wheels Raceway on October 12, 1991 * has won four Chili Bowl midget championships (only one other driver has won as many as two).
