The World of Outlaws is the ultimate in sprint car racing. Offering a 99 race series from coast to coast, these sprint cars tear up dirt tracks from 1/8th mile on up, and reach speeds in excess of 150 mph in the straights. Oweing to their unique appearance, powerful engines, and down home roots, this series has built a fan base that spans the country.
WoO races are conducted in a series of qualifying heats that ultimately decide who is going to run the A-Main Event, or Money Race. The heat races have a reputation of being just as, or more exciting than the A-Main due to the sheer number of racers that want to be in the top spots in order to advance.
The WoO signature event is Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, IA in mid-August. Steve Kinzer, the "King of Outlaws", is on pace to win his 19th series championship in 2004. And about half of the 2004 races will be broadcast on the Outdoor Channel.
